Privacy policy

This policy covers the Android app Moving Volume Estimator (version 1.0.0) and the website movingvolumeestimator.shop. In short: the app keeps everything on your phone and sends nothing.

1. Who to contact

For questions about privacy, and for access or deletion requests, write to [email protected]. This is the only contact address for support and privacy.

2. What the app processes

The app only processes what you enter yourself: moves (name, optional moving date, optional "from" and "to" text, tags, notes), rooms, furniture and items with sizes, quantities and handling notes, box counts, quotes you note down (description, type, amount in pounds, note), your own templates and catalogue entries, settings and the history of changes. The app does not ask for your name, e-mail address or any other personal details.

3. Stored only on your phone

All data is kept in the app's private storage on your phone. There is no account, no server and no cloud sync. The app has no internet permission and therefore cannot send data. We, the provider, receive none of your data and can neither see nor restore it.

4. Export, sharing and backup

Data leaves your phone only when you do it yourself: you can share the inventory of a move as a PDF or text, and a backup of all data as a file, through the Android share menu with an app of your choice, or save it in a folder you pick. What happens to these files afterwards is governed by the terms of that app or storage location. When importing, the app reads a file you choose, locally on your phone.

5. Permissions

The app requests no permissions: no location, camera, microphone or contacts, no access to photos or files and no notifications. It opens and saves files only through the Android pickers.

6. No ads, no analytics, no tracking

The app contains no advertising, no analytics, crash reporting or tracking tools, uses no advertising ID and has no in-app purchases.

7. Retention and deletion

Your data stays until you delete it: single records in the app, everything under More › Backup and data › Delete all data, or by uninstalling the app. Exported files stay wherever you saved or sent them.

8. This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party services; fonts and images are served from its own server. The server may keep technically necessary access logs (for example IP address, time and page requested) for a short time to run the site securely.

9. Your rights

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to access, correct and erase personal data and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). As we receive no data from the app, you exercise these rights directly in the app. For anything else, write to [email protected].

10. Children

The app is meant for adults planning a move and is not directed at children.

11. Changes

If the way the app handles data changes, we will update this policy and publish the new version on this page.
